Anatomy of a Baleen Whale

Currently, there exist ninety recognised species of whales, dolphins, and porpoises, collectively classified in the infraorder Cetacea, also, collectively known as whales. Of the ninety, there are fifteen species of baleen whales. Plus, three species of sperm whales. Twenty-one, or so, species of beaked whales. Two species of the family Monodontidae—the beluga whale and the narwhal. Forty-two or forty-three species of dolphins, including four taxonomic families of river dolphins. And six or seven species of porpoises. [1, 2]
